Judicial conciliation fails: WSL calls for urgent measures from this summer
Gregory Matgen (LB), alderman of the municipality of Woluwe-Saint-Lambert, recalls that residents have been suffering for several years from noise and vibration nuisance linked to the new STIB metro trains.
The municipality had brought legal proceedings, together with several residents. As part of these proceedings, the conciliation with STIB did not succeed.
Woluwe-Saint-Lambert is now calling for urgent and provisional measures to be taken from this summer: more regular rail grinding, but above all a ban on the use of the problematic metro trains between 22:00 and 07:00, at weekends and on public holidays.
Stop Bruit Métro fully supports this position. These measures are a matter of common sense: why did STIB not put them in place earlier?
